Growing up I have always been interested in knowing about wild animals and how they survive in the wild and that pushed me towards pursueing a degree in marine biology. During my undergrad studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal I became more interested in fish biology and ecology which has led me into pursueing higher degrees in ichthyology. I am currently doing a research on the metabolic physiology of red roman fish, with a focus on the role of climate change and exploitation on the physiology of fish populations.
