SAFER Lab at SciFest

Volunteers from Safer Lab attended SciFest Africa in Grahamstown to showcase fish ageing techniques and the implications of sustainable fisheries to young students at Water World alongside other exhibiting departments from the Rhodes University Science Faculty. The exhibit was well received and many students were intrigued by how fish hear and how we use fish ear bones (otoliths) to determine the age of fishes - and thereby how we manage fish stocks effectively.
