My passion for marine science started from watching documentaries about the ocean and its organisms and going to the beach with my family from as a kid, and that in a way stirred my interest towards marine biology. Ive grown to appreciate this discipline and have had the honor to immerse myself in it for the past few years. My honours in Ichthyology and fisheries science allowed me the chance to broaden my knowledge on fish physiology, climate change and the effects of exploitation, as I looked at the response of exploited fish population to temperature extremes. I got a chance to go out at sea to tag fish using acoustic tags to assess the impact of climate variability on the activity of an important commercial fish species. Overall I have had a full and well rounded experience being part of the SAFERlab. I'm looking forward to more that's still to come.
