My father is a riparian and wetland ecologist, through his work I learn about Ichthyology at age 12. Growing up I learnt to appreciate and respect nature, knowing I wanted my work to be outdoors. Upon learning about Ichthyology, I immediately wanted to become an Ichthyologist. I spent my high school and varsity years pursuing fish science. Every subject choice required, I did so with the intent of becoming an Ichthyologist. As a result, I became interested in fish keeping and decided to begin fishing as a life-long hobby, required for work within my field. Ive taken Ichthyology as a subject since my second year. Im currently completing my masters degree in Ichthyology. I love and have always been fascinated with all animals, that is why all my research projects have been related to ecological, physiological and behavioral studies, specifically requiring field work to broaden my knowledge and first-hand experience. I intend to pursue the ecological field and help to preserve the precious biodiversity our planet has to show us.
