Originally trained in the financial management and economic arena, my passion for rural fisheries and their sustainable development has led me into the natural-resource valuation field. My research spans a wide range of economic aspects, with a common trend being environmental and development economics. Born and bread in the Eastern Cape, the outdoors has been ingrained in my blood – be it fly-fishing, kayaking or hunting. I believe that assigning monetary values to natural resources is unanimous with sustainability, conservation, and market empowerment.
